Colorobbia Research Centre
As part of the Group’s innovation and sustainability strategy, Ce.Ri.Col. – Colorobbia Research Centre, based in Sovigliana-Vinci – is the hub dedicated to the development of new materials, processes and applications. Thanks to multidisciplinary expertise, pilot plants and advanced technologies, the Centre carries out research spanning ceramics, textiles, medicine and cultural heritage conservation, in ongoing collaboration with universities and international research centres.
Ce.Ri.Col. thus helps strengthen the Group’s industrial competitiveness, transferring knowledge and innovative solutions to production divisions and opening up new growth opportunities. Supporting these activities, the Centre also houses a specialised analysis laboratory for material characterisation, serving the various companies within the Group.
Ce.Ri.Col.’s commitment to fields such as nanomedicine and functional materials reflects its focus on a responsible development model, aimed at improving quality of life and enhancing cultural heritage.

Expertise
Ce.Ri.Col. took part in the EU’s 6th and 7th Framework Programmes and is currently involved in Horizon 2020. Over the years it has coordinated numerous national and regional projects in its areas of expertise, in particular Nanomedicine, Coatings, Encapsulation, Glass, Ceramics, Cultural Heritage and more. It has been, and continues to be, involved in Marie Curie ITN People training programmes and hosts foreign researchers from all over the world.
Ce.Ri.Col. is part of the Colorobbia Group, present in the ceramics industry for nearly a century, and has always provided external research and chemical analysis services. Its research is carried out across 4 main areas:
